India's First ever Woman Grandmaster & Men International Master

Vijaylakshmi Subbaraman is the first Woman Grandmaster of the Country.She completed the Woman Grandmaster title in 2000 breaking all
barriers and made the country proud.Viji has she is popularly known was coached by her late father Mr.A.S.Subbarman, who moulded her
into a great champion. She was the first Indian women to achieve a rare feat of securing Silver medals at both the Chess Olympiads in 2000
& 2002. She has completed all her three Men Grandmaster norms and has to complete her rating criteria of 2500.Presently she has an Elorating
of 2416.

She got married to GM Sriam Jha in 2005 and they have a Son Aryan Sriram.She has two sisters , Ms.S.Meenakshi who is also an Woman Grandmaster and youngest sister S.Banupriya is pursuing her M.S. Her mother has been her source of strength.
